Cyprus, a young Jamaican is shot in the ass by a hit man after delivering his mega-harvest.
 
Things take on a strange twist when Cyprus decides to take hostages, who are also having a bad day:
 
Shareef, a Pakistani convenience store owner, whose wife has just gone into labour.
 
Ana, Shareef's Polish neighbour, is addicted to the shopping channel and must buy a steam cleaner from it today, but being a hostage she is not sure she will be able to make that life changing purchase.
 
Morty, Ana's Israeli boyfriend, has just left his suicidal wife to spend the rest of his life with Ana, but is having second thoughts, as Ana prefers the steam cleaner over him.
 
Jerry, Ana's alcoholic/gambling Macedonian mechanic, is waiting for an emergency call from his travel agent to find a last minute seat sale to Cuba.
 
The odd Scarberians are forced to spend time together and eat chocolate covered brandy cherries as they try to figure out who had Cyprus shot in the ass... Om, the pot king; Kingston, his high school buddy; Kara, his Moslem girlfriend; her strict father or the pot smokers?
